Heldrich Hotel and Conference Center, hotel in New Brunswick

Boasting views of central New Brunswick, New Jersey, this hotel offers relaxing spa services, comfortable guestrooms and delicious on-site dining for a truly memorable stay.

Interactions with the staff during the booking and during check in were terrible. There were several issues including charging a guest for a room that was clearly pre-paid for. Just terrible. I will be sending a message to the GM...it was that bad.

We were there to move our daughter into the University, but we also had friends close by. Because we were on the Campus, we were able to make use of the college busses. They were free and took you to different spots on the Campus and also downtown which is excellent as we discovered that aspect after burning a couple days using Uber. We should have spoken to the front desk first. Do not miss going to the Rutgers Garden as it is free and also very beautiful. Lots of restaurants downtown to eat. Also utilize the list of restaurants that the front desk gives you because it has a good variety. Most of the restaurants delivers.

When in New Brunswick, brunch at Old Man Rafferty's is a must. It still has a small town feel with all the modern conveniences of an urban location. The NJ transit railroad is right in the center of town with easy access. Most everything is in walking distance.

Property seemed newer, our room had trash in it upon arrival and was not set up as confirmed by the hotel via two separate emails for Valentine’s Day as discussed and when I inquired about this after calling down to the front desk was simply told no we don’t do it. You will get no sleep at this location sandwiched between two very busy nonstop traveled roadways. The noise inside from the traffic is awful no noise canceling insulation or windows.

The staff was friendly and quick. The room was nice except for some peeling paint in the bathroom. The bed is my only gripe, very uncomfortable, either an old mattress or very cheap. And the bed made noise ( if you know what I mean). Can never beat the location for New Brunswick nightlife.

It was really good and the price was a lot cheaper than some hotels from the area. Also, this place is even cleaner than all of the other hotels I stayed at in the same area. The fact that it is on a university campus is also good and I think is one of the reason for the pricing.

The room was clean and spacious. The location is not extremely close to the city center, but it's close enough to walk and there are some markets around to get groceries. Above everything, the owner was always available to answer my questions before and during my stay.

Breakfast was great, lots of options. It was a bit on the pricy side for us, but the room was nice, and clean. Beds were a bit on the hard side, but not abnormal for a hotel.
